What is the Fraxel Dual Laser?
It is the prototype fractional laser of the Ebrium category. This is the original fractional treatment laser and it is the industry's golden standard in the field of dermal restoration and reformation.
Fraxel technology offers perfect balance between the clinical efficiency and the patient's comfort.
Are there any other fractional lasers?
It is a fact that there are plenty fractional lasers.
The Fraxel Dual Laser is only one though – and simply, it cannot be compared with any other.
Fraxel technology is the first and most extensively studied laser technology on the fractional regeneration.
In fact, the Fraxel team was the one which, in 2001, introduced the science of fractional photothermolysis.
The method was developed by professors Dr. Rox Anderson and Dr. Dieter Manstein of the Wellamn laboratories of Havard University, in cooperation with Dr. Scott Herron and Fraxel scientist Len DeBenedictis.
For this reason, Fraxel Company has posted on its website the physicians from all over the world who possess the authentic fraxel laser and they are trained in its implementation.
Remember: There is only one brand of Fraxel and many imitations.
Why is it considered to be the golden standard of the industry?
Fraxel system holds the strongest research base and approval by the Food and Drug Administration of the United States.
Fraxel has won international reputation thanks to its proven results and the short recovery time and it is the first choice of both distinguished doctors in the field and patients who are looking for it by name.
How does it work?
The laser produces thousands of tiny but deep columns of thermal restoration, micro thermal zones through which skin cells are excreted from the epidermis.
It is the only laser which can reach the deepest layers of the skin in order to activate the collagen without damaging the superficial layers of the skin.
It targets 5 to 50% of the surface of the skin, leaving the remaining 50 to 95% intact and through it’s fibroblasts leads to rapid healing and skin restoration.
Why is the healing procedure so fast?
Rapid regeneration from the inside out. Fraxel treatment achieves both rapid re epithelialization of the skin and collagen reconstruction reaching depths up to 1.6 mm.
The skin heals much faster than if we had treated the entire area at once, that is due to the the natural healing process that the therapy uses in order to create new, healthy tissue, which will replace skin imperfections such as wrinkles, melasma, skin discoloration, actinic keratosis, chromatic aberrations, acne scars and surgical scars.
Fraxel technology is so precise, that it can be applied to the face and beyond, including sensitive areas of the body like the neck, chest and hands.
How many sessions are required?
It usually takes 2 to 5 sessions depending on the extent and severity of the problem at intervals of 3-6 weeks.
The process takes up 15 to 20 minutes. Anesthetic cream is required to be applied topically while during the whole treatment process, cold air is channeled to the spot of the application, making the treatment very well tolerated.
How will the skin be after the treatment?
In the following days there will be only a mild redness and swelling in the area which lasts from 2 to 5 days depending on the treatment.
What are the results?
The results are immediate and progressive.
The skin from the very next day looks more shiny and healthy while progressively, the deeper skin layers continue to heal by the activation of the fibroblasts and the production of new collagen.
The skin gradually improves and in 2-3 months period of time it becomes smoother, radiant and firmer, while the red and white scars are corrected, which is extremely difficult even impossible to achieve with any other Laser.
Precautions after the treatment
Avoiding the sunlight is of utmost importance. Also using a suncreen lotion is highly recommended and finally, very good hydration is needed.
